A Big List of Slip-On Barefoot Shoes

One type of barefoot shoe I’m drawn to again, and again, and again, is Slip-ons! I love the simplicity of sliding on a shoe quickly and going. No muss, no fuss. They do bring some challenges because without laces you either fit, or you don’t for the most part. Insoles and felt pads can help if the shoes are too big, but if they’re too small there’s nothing you can do.

I’m high volume, so this a challenge for me, but I love them and am drawn back repeatedly to find new, fun, low-cut slip-on shoes to explore.

For other BIG lists, including Red and Golden, and Winter, check the master list here.

To define slip-ons for this list, I’m not counting ballet flats, sock shoes, or boots like Chelsea. This list is entirely focused on casual slip-on shoes in the in-between area and there are over 20 brands from which to choose your ultimate slip-on options. Some of the links/codes in this post are affiliate.

Feelgrounds:

I’ve pretty well stocked up on Feelgrounds and you can see reviews here. I used to universally size up by 1 in the brand because they weren’t particularly wide, but they’ve fixed that and now most people will find their normal size fits great. The pictured pairs here are pre-sole change and included in the reviews mentioned above. If you are low volume you’d probably need an insole and/or felt sticky pads to get a good fit. Links to some options here. *Vegan

Unshoes:

I’ve been enjoying both Terra Vida *Vegan and Foragers from Unshoes for some time now. The Terra Vida model slots in well for the casual canvas vibe of Tom’s Slip-ons and comes in 4 different colors, while the Forager model can be a house shoe (like I wear it) or a great everyday wear moc model and comes in 3 different colors. Check out the full Terra Vida review here and a quick look at the Foragers here.

VIVO:

VIVOBAREFOOT is a brand that I avoided for a long time because I was convinced that my feet were too high-volume to get much out of them. But all of that changed when I decided to give the men’s models a try. Now I’m sporting these super-comfy Ababas and loving their fit, quality, and understated front (they get a little funkier on the bottom and back). They are also sometimes available in canvas models and you can get 10% off full-price models with the discount code OWBSHOES.

Those are the slip-ons currently in my shoe stash, but only scratches the surface of what’s available. Check out these brands for other slip-on options.

Astral – Astral models are typically quite thick and with a very minimal 1 mm drop, which you can often eliminate by removing the insole. For men, the Porter and Baker models are slip-ons, while Porter, Baker, and Maria (an outdoor shoe that is shaped like a ballet flat) make up the women’s slip-on options. *Vegan
Be Lenka – The Eazy model from Be Lenka is one of the classiest slip-ons available, but it’s not suitable for high-volume feet. Low-volume wearers will love the clean lines and snug fit that can be hard to find. Check out my full review here and save 5% with code OWBSHOES. *Vegan (the canvas versions)
Bohempia – Bohempia has both barefoot and non-barefoot options, including the Barefoot Vikla model that comes in 3 different colors (the black even comes in wide). Save 10% with OWBSHOES. *Vegan
Feet Sutra – a classy handmade leather loafer, the Khusaa. See my first look here and my completed full review here, and save $10 with code OWBSHOES.
Filii (EU) – offers a moccasin-style slip-on in brown or black nubuck leather
Freet – Talus is a light slip-on for everyday wear. Save 10% with WENY10. *Vegan
Groundies – no true slip-on, though the original Toulouse model (in 3 colors, but limited sizing) is very close to it
GroundZ – leather slip-ons that are grounding. Save shipping costs using code OWBSHOES.
Lisbeth Joe – The London Loafer is available in 4 leather options and is fully reviewed here. Get 5% off either model with affiliate code OWBSHOES.
Luks – handmade Luks shoes are suitable for lower-volume feet and come in Fuego and Cordelia moccasins
Oesh – unique, 3D printed shoes, including the slip-on Salon model
Posh Panda – ultimate handmade slip-on moccs are here in a huge variety of colors
Senmotic – Classy leather slip-on in black, brown, and cognac
Softstar – these Oregon-produced, handmade leather shoes have several slip-on options, including the Rogue, Moc3 RunAmoc, Roo Moccasins, Fireside Slippers, and more. You can see my first look at the Roo here.
Solerunner – the Business > Aponi can be a good cross-over slip-on shoe for women
Tadeevo – these super-flexible and minimalist shoes are a great addition to your wardrobe, and the company offers Boat models in men’s for the easy slip-on look.
Vibram Five Fingers – You could argue that anything made by Vibram is a slip-on, but there’s one range that stands out here: CVTs. They’ve come in hemp for both men’s and women’s and now also include a leather version in both men’s and women’s as well. *Vegan
Xero – The casual and comfy Aptos has become a favorite of mine. Check out the review here. *Vegan
Zaqq – this prolific shoe company is always coming out with new models and you can find loafers on both the men’s and women’s sides, though models like Qent and Qea are a little harder to find on the men’s. Always take care with ZAQQ that you check toeboxes as some are better and more foot-shaped than others.
Zeazoo – Zeazoo has a couple of slip-on models: the Cheetah for women + Kiwi with an outdoor sole. My son and I have reviewed a more house-appropriate version of Kiwi here. You can save 5% on any of their models with OWBSHOES.

    • They look really comfy! They aren’t too pointed, and being all leather they would mold to the wearer’s feet nicely.
