EarthRunners Circadian Adventure Sandals Mini Review

Since the blog is just getting rolling at this point, I’m adding the various mini-reviews I’ve done on Instagram. Later, I plan to come back and do longer versions. The original post can be found here. I eventually sized up and the new pairs are here.

***This Mini Review was one of the first things I did on the blog. For a full look at Earth Runners I recommend you read the completed Full Review that covers all 3 footbeds and so much more.***

Technical details:

  • Model: Circadian Adventure with Khaki laces
  • Sole: 7.5mm Vibram with 1.5mm tread
  • Foodbed: cotton canvas

Pros:

  • Organic and perfectly unisex look: This shoe doesn’t skew toward any particular demographic. It looks great on everyone. Depending on the laces you get, you can dress it up or down with ease.
  • Rugged enough for some rough terrain, and thick enough to offer some foot protection: I’ve not done anything over the top in mine, but ER can handle a lot, and there’s a thicker version that can take things up further.
  • Conforms to foot: I have no worries about tripping in these. They stay right with my feet as I walk.
  • Earthing: There are so many benefits to being directly connected to the Earth as often as possible. Barefoot living is best, but when you can’t do that, a good earthing shoe like this will still let you have many of the benefits.
  • Easy cleaning: get a scrub brush and some soap and have at it.

Cons:

  • Adjustment period: The number one thing that people bring up about these shoes is the break-in period. The laces come stiff, and you have to learn how to make minor adjustments to get the right security without the toe pain. On the flipside, once you get it right these shoes feel like a second skin.
  • Drying time: Because these are earthing shoes and the straps directly touch the ground, they wick up water fast. It doesn’t hurt you or the shoe, but can take a long time to dry and be cold if it’s chilly outside.
  • Slipperiness: I’ve never had the thinnest model, but I’ve seen critiques that it gets very slippery when wet. If you’re going to do any wet stuff, you might want to get one with cotton footbeds for some added grip.

Personal thoughts:

I wear these all the time and they will last forever, but I can still struggle with the right fit, especially if I mess with them at all. Small adjustments are key and @rewildbefree has uploaded awesome videos on his Youtube Channel showing how to set and adjust your EarthRunners.
