Peerko Barefoot Shoes – Brand Review Feature

Elegantly designed, beautifully constructed, and made to last – Peerko Barefoot Shoes are highly desired for their great cuts, eye-catching minimalist footwear designs, and sturdy construction.

I personally have 3 pairs of their shoes, all bought myself, and have no affiliate connection with the company. This post is not sponsored.

Personally, I am drawn to them again and again because of how great they feel to wear, how good they look, and how perfect they are for healthy feet.

Company Philosophy

Peerko is based in the Czech Republic but is rapidly heading world-wide. They started with a 1.0 model in canvas and have grown to a 2.0 in leather with a similar low-cut look, mid-height boots, and a taller model. Then on to lined, and now this year… read below to find out more 🙂

The word Peerko is a nod to the Czech word Pirko which means feather. That is also their logo. Peerko shoes are designed to be the best for your feet, and with that in mind, they have balanced their designs with physiotherapist, designer, and shoemaker advice. The result is brilliant: the shoes are well-made and cut beautifully to work for a variety of feet.

They, of course, have all the hallmarks of great barefoot shoes:

  • Zero Drop
  • Thin, Flexible Sole
  • Wide Toe Box

The soles are designed with a ‘wall construction’ which means they look thicker than they are.

Sizing has been expanded from the original 38-43 to now offer 37-45.

Good for diverse foot types.

Models

The 1.0 line is made in canvas and the only remaining stock can be found at retailers such as Mugavik and Happy Little Soles (links below under Where to Buy).

The 2.0 Classic model took the 1.0 look to new heights with leather – smooth, shiny, and suede. They look like sneakers, but raised to a new standard. The sizing was also adjusted with additional length. You can see my review here.

The Go boot is my favorite Peerko. It’s a mid-level Combat boot that I love to wear. They were a tad tight when I first received them (high-volume feet and the boots are lightly lined) but they stretched to a perfect fit. These boots have a great vintage look and go great with pants or dresses. My review is here and Katja from Bose Nogice and I have featured them in our #shoeforeveryfoot collaboration.

The Empire boot is a real show-stopper. My husband calls them my dragon-hide boots and strangers’ eyes drop to my feet every time I wear them. I haven’t reviewed them yet, but have shown them several times on my Instagram here and here. They do work for wide calves (even mine) but I prefer to wear them with a Boot Band.

The Frost is their lined winter model. It is currently sold out, understandably, since Winter is a distant memory in the northern hemisphere. It’s lined in wool and came in 3 colors this year. Generally, you want to size up in anything lined like this. Keep an eye out to see if they return this fall/winter. You can have a great look AND some warm feet.

The Street model is a new take on the Classic and offers bright or neutral colors with an accent stripe.

The Mood model has a very vintage/hipster look with contrasting colors on the side panels and the heel (except for the midnight). Read my review of Mood here.

The Smart model is their foray into the business world. The black or the brown either one would work great in an office setting, and the black for somewhere requiring all-black shoes, such as hospitality (though I don’t know yes or no on slip-resistance, if that’s a necessity).

The Celebrate model comes in Day and Night variations and uses a ribbon for lacing instead of traditional laces. It’s a fun twist on our shoe expectations.

The Rex model is a high-top sneaker for cooler weather and comes in the 2 colors you see here as well as a bright, all-red option. Each is made of leather and lightly insulated. Full review here.

The Regina boot is a riding-style boot that comes in both narrow and regular calf circumferences and is available in both black and brown.

Where to buy

Peerko is continuously working to expand their shipping destinations. They aren’t world-wide yet, but do offer shipping to an ever-growing list of EU and beyond-EU countries directly from their website (including the US!).

If you are not residing in one of the countries where you can currently buy Peerko, there are retailers selling their shoes as well. Most, if not all of these, are going to order in batches and sometimes you will see pre-orders pop up, maybe even at discounted pricing.

In Europe:

Happy Little Soles ships world-wide and I’ve personally ordered from here several times. They currently have 2.0, Go, Empire, and Frost all in-stock.

Mugavik also ships worldwide, and still has some of the original 1.0 models, as well as high-tops from the canvas range, and other current offerings.

In the US:

PedTerra, where I am an affiliate and the code OWBSHOES saves you 10% if it’s your first time ordering from them. At the time of this posting, you can still find limited stock on Frost models here as well, in addition to other models. Shipping and returns are always free.

What’s coming?

Stay tuned to Peerko news by following their social media such as Instagram, where they announce new models, sales, and expansions. They are always growing and with a brand this good, hopefully, we will see them around for a long time, with more styles, more colors, more shipping, and more sizes so everyone can enjoy their shoes. I will also keep this page updated as more news is announced, so feel free to bookmark it and check back.
