Today I’m kicking off a new series of BIG shoe lists with something I’ve always been passionate about: color. And we’re digging right in with my favorite color – RED!
Red isn’t for everyone, I know. I promise that this series will have something for everyone. But, I also think that many people pull back from color out of fear and I don’t think you need to.
I started this blog in July 2020 and one of the first content pieces I set up was a post about color, but I tried tackling it all wrong, it didn’t work, and it’s been shelved all this time.
But I was buzzing through a store recently and an idea struck me on how I could share my deep love of color and encourage others to explore color options at the same time. So here we are, with a series focused on showing you that it’s okay to wear color, and where you can find your own splash of color if you dare!
Softstar:
I’ve featured these Softstar ballerines before and I love them so much! Nothing pops a neutral outfit to the next level quite like a pair of red shoes.
Softstar is known for their customization options where you can get a rainbow of colors in most any of their shoes, and mix and match your options to get exactly the look you want. Check out the review of the updated Ballerine here (pictured shoe above is the original style).
Luna:
The Roots Builder at Luna allows you to customize with great colors, including this fiery red that instantly won my heart. Save 10% with my affiliate code OWBS_LUNA10 or use this link to apply the code automatically to your purchase.
Storehouse Flats:
If you need a more budget-friendly option to get your color fix, check out Storehouse Flats. They are an accidentally minimalist/ish brand (bit on the thicker side) that gives you tons of color options for well under $100, which is definitely on the lower end in the barefoot world. Sizing can vary between their different materials, so don’t hesitate to ask for advice if you want to head this route. You can get $8 off with the referral code OWBSHOES at this boutique. Storehouse operates on a pre-order model with limited in-stock flats, so you have to check around to see what’s available but reds are always a thing.
Be Lenka:
I have 3 different Be Lenka shoes in red, one of which you can’t buy any longer unless you are a size 45 or 46. In fact, that pair of shoes really helped cement my love of barefoot shoes.
Check out all the Be Lenka options at the affiliate link here. They have 9 red options! (Not counting the older model). OWBSHOES = a 5% discount off your first order.
Mukishoes:
Mukishoes made me ridiculously happy when they came out with their vintage-red Thyme model this summer. It had long been a wish of mine and, of course, I snapped it right up. This light red goes with so many outfits and is very easy to wear.
You can get Mukishoes any time at a 10% discount with the affiliate code OBSESSEDWITHBAREFOOTSHOES.
That reaches the end of my red shoes, but if you are on the hunt for red and don’t love any of those options, here are a few more:
